About me!
Macy Bleu Thiebaud is a Musical Theatre performing artist and choreographer currently located in DFW. She enjoys working on shows that engage the audience in a particular way, leaving them feeling impacted or changed. Whether it is character comedy, vulnerable storytelling, or tombé pas de bourrée, Macy is the type of performer to put all of her effort into whatever project she is working on. She knows how to bring light and fun into the rehearsal space, while also working hard and investing herself, and inspiring peers to do the same.
Her dream job as a kid was to be the President of the United States, and clearly, a lot has changed since then. She would never have imagined she would choose to pursue musical theatre seriously, because she did not realize that performing on her kitchen table with her little sister and choreographing dances for her parents to say yes to sleepovers was where her real passion was. She and her sister joined a non-profit musical theatre company called Kids Who Care, where they took singing and dance classes, doing at least 30 touring performances every year, and wrote and sang original songs about what they wanted to see changed in the world. This made her into the person and performer she is today.
Macy is about to graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance at the University of Texas at Arlington! During school, she has gotten the chance to work on a couple of projects, including I PUT A SPELL ON YOU at Webster Hall in New York, working alongside Jay Armstrong Johnson and Michael Sylvester. One of the most unique dance concerts she has done at UTA was IN EMOTION, an AI immersive dance concert choreographed by Laurie Taylor and designed by Leah Mazur. She has been honored to be a part of CABARET as Helga, in the ensemble and dance captain for HEAD OVER HEELS, and had a blast being Lucy Schmeeler in ON THE TOWN at UTA. She is currently working on HAIR as Jeanie at UTA. They open April 2 and run for two weekends; you won't want to miss it!
She is so grateful to be surrounded by such an open-minded and constant support system. With everything the world is going through, she is passionate about creating theatre and art that helps us cope with life, whether that be through confronting the problems of today head-on or through an escape. The world needs more positivity and education, and what better way to do that than performing? Her family, boyfriend, and friends truly keep her going. When she is not performing, she is probably going on a random side quest, choreographing or making music with her friends, or sneezing on command. Thank you for spending the time to get to know her. Let's work together soon!
